How to review for your final – 2011
FINALS SCHEDULE – All science finals will occur on June 2nd in the morning!
- Complete the final review sheet: finalreviewsheet_2011
- Consider this a practice final. If you can comfortably WRITE your answers for this, you will be fine for the final!
- Play the jeopardy games posted:
- Ecology: https://biowithoutwalls.files.wordpress.com/2010/09/testreviewjeopardyecology_2010.ppt
- Evolution: https://biowithoutwalls.files.wordpress.com/2010/11/testreviewjeopardyevolution_edited.ppt
- Chemistry, Organelles, Cell membranes and transport: https://biowithoutwalls.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/testreviewjeopardy_cell_membranes_2010_2011.ppt
- Cell energetics: https://biowithoutwalls.files.wordpress.com/2011/02/testreviewjeopardy_cell_energetics_2011.ppt
- Molecular Genetics: https://biowithoutwalls.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/jeopardyreviewmoleculargenetics_2009_2011.ppt
- Meiosis and Mendelian Genetics: https://biowithoutwalls.files.wordpress.com/2011/04/jeopardyreviewgenetics_2011.ppt
- Review your tests and quizzes, particularly those from early in the year!
- How to study for ecology
- How to study for evolution
- How to study for midterms
- How to study for cell energetics
- How to study for genetics
- End of Year Reviews
- NOTE: These are NOT my review sheets, so they cover material we did not go over in class, along with material we did go over in class. (Ex. You should be able to answer the meiosis/mitosis parts of the ‘reproduction’ sheet, but NOT the parts on human reproductive systems.) That being said, they are good reviews of what we did learn, particularly the evolution sheet!
- Credit for these sheets goes to the wonderful Kim Foglia, who inspired students during her life and continues to do so after her passing.
- EOYReview1Chemistry2007
- EOYReview2Cells2007
- EOYReview3Metabolism2007
- EOYReview4Reproduction2007
- EOYReview5Genetics2007
- EOYReview6Evolution2007
- Come to review sessions leading up to the final. COME WITH QUESTIONS! I’m happy to review, but I won’t reteach. (An appropriate question: Could you review prophase I of meiosis?; an inappropriate request: Could you teach me “cells?”)
- Use the resources posted under “Course Help and Links.” These include videos, review games, additional information, and other resources.
- Use these videos (Although they’re aimed at AP students, they’ll quickly review a lot of what we learned in class): http://www.hippocampus.org/Biology;jsessionid=497C3BD4D6D0D26B5289F24EF0098468
- This site has the videos linked to specific chapters in your textbook: http://www.hippocampus.org/?select-textbook=14
- Look for CONNECTIONS between units! Pick vocab words from different units and say how they relate to one another. Example: If we see diffusion occurring in a variety of places, then be able to discuss it in those places.
