Bio HW for TFIII and TFIV

Here’s the homework for TFIII and TFIV due Friday. (For TWF and MWH, this homework will likely be due later.)

  • Pick at least 4 elements and practice calculating the number of protons, neutrons, and electrons, and finding symbol, atomic # and mass – checked!
  • Pick 3 elements and draw Bohr diagrams for each – checked!
  • Read and take notes on pgs 141-144 in the textbook.
  • Read the packet on bonding up to “hydrogen bonding.” Highlight and answer the in-text questions.
  • Quiz next week on atoms, bohr diagrams, bonds, and solutions

HW for Biology for the week of 9.8.08

HW for biology due the first time I see you in class next week. (Monday for the MWH class, Tuesday for everyone else.)

  • Write a review of your experiment that you presented in class.
    Paragraph One: Present the question, your experiment, and what you think its strengths are. What are your predicted results? How will you measure them?

    Paragraph Two: What you could do to improve your experiment? How could you expand your experimental? What problems might you encounter performing the experiment? How could you address these problems?

  • Finish your variables activity!
  • If you have not taken notes on pages 6-18, you should catch up on these. DON’T FALL BEHIND!

For TWF, TF3 and TF4, this homework is due Friday. For MWH, this is due Thursday.

  • Write a review of your group’s experiment and how you would test the question at hand.
    • Paragraph One: Present the question, your experiment, and what you think its strengths are. What are your predicted results? How will you measure them?

  • Text reading on the scientific method – 11-18. Questions 1, 2 and 4 on page 18. (Checked, not collected.)
  • Winning team should email me their procedures by the next class.
  • HW due AFTER Labor Day for biology

    Congrats on finishing your first week at SWW! Here is the homework due the class meeting after Labor Day:

    • Obtain all course materials – Be sure to bring in your notebook for the syllabus quiz!
    • Study for your syllabus quiz.
    • Read and take notes on the characteristics of life in the textbook, ppgs. 6-11. I will be checking your notes!
    • For those classes that completed the lab, finish your post-lab questions if you did not complete these during class.
    • If you would like to get a head-start on reading for next week, read and take notes on pages 11-18 and complete questions 1, 2 and 4 on page 18. These will be checked during the last class of the week for your class period.
