Graphics and Photo Editors:
- The Graphics Image Manipulation Program – a free alternative to Photoshop. (You’ll have to download an extra package if you want to install this on Mac OS X Leopard. Links provided on the website.)
- Inkscape – a free alternative to Adobe Illustrator. (Note: It lets you save things as .ps files. If you import them into GIMP, you can then save them as .jpeg, etc.)
- Photoshop tutorial blog. If you choose to use Photoshop, you’re going to need some help.
- A guide to taking screen captures on Macs and PC.
MLA Citations:

Multimedia Software:
Note: A lot of multimedia software does not play nicely with Mac OSX Leopard or Tiger. You may need to edit your PowerPoint on a PC or an earlier version of OS X in order to get it to work correctly.
- Adobe Shockwave

- VCL Media Player – This player plays pretty much any media file without the pesky restrictions other media players put on formatting.
- RealPlayer
- Embedding video into PowerPoint.
